MSMEs CONNECT EMBU

The Kenya Public-Private Sector MSMEs Dialogue, dubbed MSMES Connect, is an initiative launched by the Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs Development in partnership with private sector stakeholders. This initiative serves as a platform for dialogue, innovation, and collaboration among key stakeholders, including government agencies, county governments, private sector players, academic institutions, development partners, and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

The 2nd Edition of MSMEs Connect was held at Embu University in Embu County. The event, which serves as a capacity-building forum for MSMEs and connects them with potential clients, saw exhibitors across different value chains showcasing their products.

The Ag. CEO Elizabeth Nkukuu CFA joined the Chief guest, Permanent Secretary, MSMEs Development, Hon Susan A Mang'eni, in her speech, the PS stressed the importance of funding MSEs to enable self-employment and job creation. PS insisted that Hustler Fund is in the business of enabling the MSMEs through affordable and accessible credit that doesn't require security and with only a single-digit interest. With the new credit rating system, exemplary borrowers will be onboarded to the mainstream financial institutions.

Market linkages for potential value chains during various government forums are key, as well as policy reforms fostering entry to businesses and conducive regulations towards MSMEs for optimal growth.
