MONITORING AND EVALUATION IN MACHAKOS COUNTY
Two years since inception, the Fund has disbursed Ksh 64,633,253,529 to 25,585,699 customers. In this regard, the Fund is monitoring its beneficiaries, primarily due to the fully digital nature of the products, to establish their impact on the economy, address issues, and enhance the performance of the Fund.
It is imperative to engage directly with beneficiaries to understand their needs, challenges, and expectations. The engagement, which is a collaboration between Hustler Fund and Micro Small Enterprise Authority (MSEA), conducted the M&E to foster/monitor economic growth and lift people at the bottom of the economic pyramid, as stipulated at the BETA.
The campaign took a sample in Mwala, Tala, and Machakos Central, whereby over 50 registered groups and individual borrowers availed themselves to give their feedback and get financial literacy from the team. The Fund has impacted individuals and groups since 2022, when it was launched by H.E. the president.
Dr. William Ruto.
The Ag, CEO Elizabeth N. Nkukuu, CFA, officially closed the engagement at ACK Cathedral in Machakos Central by emphasizing that for limits to be adjusted, borrowers must repay and observe consistency, which will foster limit adjustments. She further congratulated beneficiaries who remained adamant until their limits were adjusted and started businesses with the loan. The repayment rate in Machakos is at 76% against a disbursement of Ksh 2 bn.
